Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – Stocznia Gdansk shipyard looks for new contracts to build ships and steel parts.
Stocznia Gdansk managed to split from Stocznia Gdynia several months ago. According to state officials, the shipyard has problems with new contracts.
“We asked the shipyard to present its order portfolio but they said it’s not our business”, a representative of the state told “PB”.
Andrzej Buczkowski who used to provide contracts for Stocznia Gdynia in the past, is now doing the same for Stocznia Gdansk.
“We have a portfolio of orders for 1.5 years – contracts for four ships and an option to build four others”, Andrzej Buczkowski said.
This year, orders worth EUR 70m should be completed. Within a month, they may grow to EUR 120m if two contracts come into force. Andrzej Buczkowski stressed that the shipyard may increase production to 12 ships annually.
An important part of the portfolio of Gdansk Shipyard is building steel construction for, among others, Aker of Norawy. Ukrainian Donbas which wants to buy a controlling stake of the Polish shipyard, is interested in these activities as well. The shipyard hopes to win contracts from Cenzin, a military producer, and – similarly to Donbas – one of its shareholders.
