Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – Stocznia Gdanska would like to see government agency and its own employees as the new investor. Whichever the investor, the company must start to operate without Stocznia Gdynia.
Till the end of May, Stocznia Gdynia will receive offers from investors interested in its subsidiary Stocznia Gdanska. A consortium of state-owned entities: the Agency of Industrial Development and Energa energy company has submitted an offer as well as Stocznia Gdanska Holding, a company founded by the shipyard’s staff.
Today, the shipyard is trying to get new contracts. Today it processes metals and builds ships for Stocznia Gdynia. It must receive its own contracts to survive. Andrzej Jaworski, Stocznia Gdanska CEO, assured that the company has received several orders. The shipyard may receive orders to build ships worth USD 50-60m each. It is going to build 5 ships annually but the number may double. Sales, which last year amounted to PLN 200m (EUR 51m) would grow much more, as well as the net income which amounted to PLN 200,000 last year.
