Soon, a year will have passed since Swarzedz management was changed and a new strategy was implemented. One of the effects were lower quarterly losses.
“Third quarter results are also satisfactory but October does not look like that optimistic any more”, Lukasz Stelmaszyk, Swarzedz CEO said.
The company expects further fall in demand. Although it has increased sales in its shops by 100 percent, it will need to revise its strategy.
There are several options considered. Swarzedz will need to cut costs, that’s for sure. Before, it had closed its plant in Swarzedz and produces furniture in Nysa and Koscian. Both companies use 70 percent of their capacity.
“It’s best to work at full capacity. We will have to think whether we are able to keep present capacity”, Lukasz Stelmaszyk said.
The company may cut capacity or look for other distribution channels. The new strategy should be published later this year.
Several months ago, “PB” informed that the difficulties of the furniture sector will result in consolidation. Swarzedz is relatively small but its brand is very well known. Therefore, the company is a good acquisition target.
“An investor may be a good solution but so far we have not done anything to
find one”, Lukasz Stelmaszyk said.
