Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – Zomar will invest in Agram PLN 25m and will try to rebuild the position from before bankruptcy. That is for the beginning.

It seems that, Agram – the deep frozen food company that collapsed in 2003 , will soon come back to the market. Second chance is thanks to Zomar , the energy company from Chełm, that bought Agram last year from syndic paying PLN 10m.

“Assets of Agram need serious modernization. We plan to invest in modernization in our two taken over freezers, (in Lublin and Motycz) PLN 25 m in the next few months”,  Stanisław Adamiak, president of Zomar said.

Investor will gather the money from its own funds and loans as well. He managed to win some capital from UE funds. He has signed already proper agreement with Agency  of Agriculture Restructurisation and Modernization. Thanks to it, he will get back PLN 11m, but according to the valid procedures, after the investment will have been finished.

The goal is obvious. In the past Agram had 10percent market share, today only 2-percent. The modernization will among others increase capacity of freezer.  Today it is 10-12 thousand tons per annum, finally it is planned to get 20 thousand tons.

“At the moment we are putting the money in it, but we believe that next year our situation will improve significantly”, Satanisław Adamiak said.

They hope, that home sales will rise but also export, that is in the majority today. The owners counts on eastern markets, they have even special certificates allowing to export deep frozen food to Russia.

Stanisław Adamiak added, that producing of deep frozen vegetables and fruits has small profitability, so the small companies have problems to survive. He is for cooperation of small and medium sized enterprises, that could change in to deeper consolidation in the future.

“After some time, we start to look for solid partners for this company. Even today we are ready for talks”, Stanisław Adamiak said.

“In our business there are some fields, where the cooperation is possible right now. E.g. in case of purchase of stock”, Stanisław Cholewiak, president of Hortino from Leżajsk said.

He is also for cooperation among medium companies with polish capital, that in the future could result in consolidation.
