President Aleksander Kwasniewski yesterday began an official visit to the USA at a time when much could be improved. American investments in Poland have fallen due not only to the slowing economy on the other side of the pond but also due to a badly managed foreign policy by Warsaw.
George Bush, during his most recent visit to Poland, said that this country was in the centre of Europe and that this should make it easier for Americans to do business. However trade could be better.
The worldÃs largest economy is also the eighth largest trading partner for Poland as far as imports are concerned and twelfth as far as exports are concerned. Last year imports fell by over USD2bn to USD1.7bn whilst exports fell from USD995.3m to USD851.9m. American investments here fell five times to USD455.7m.
