Toyota recently opened a parts factory in Wałbrzych which the company believes should encourage between three and five of its suppliers to come to Poland and invest around PLN200m.
The company has not revealed the names of those suppliers but this is not surprising as auto firms jealously keep the name of their suppliers to themselves as the only brand they want their customers to know is that of the car.
Toyota recently launched a factory in Kolin in the Czech Republic.
The Wałbrzych factory will supply it as well as other factories in other countries such as the United Kingdom.
The choice of the Czech Republic over Poland was made owing to the poor infrastructure of this country particularly as far as roads are concerned.
The French PSA (Peugeot-Citroen) may also open a parts factory in Poland to supply its Czech operations. Toyota could also buy parts from them.
The Toyota Corolla 9 is currently selling well with eight percent of the entire market despite the general slow down on the motor market.
Indeed Toyota is having difficulty keeping up with sales.
Toyota is planning on opening around eight new salons in the next three or four years.
New dealerships will be opened this year in Kielce and Nowy Targ.
