Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – Michal Wojcik, who several years ago was deputy CEO of V&W, was appointed the CEO of the clothing group. Rafal Bauer, so far the head of the company, is stepping down.

Vistula&Wolczanka (V&W) clothing group which has recently conducted a hostile takeover of W.Kruk clothes and jewelry company, soon to become controlled by Jerzy Mazgaj businessman, will have a new-old CEO. It’s Michal Wojcik who headed Vistula in the years 2002-2006 and after the merger with Wolczanka became deputy CEO of Rafal Bauer. He was not satisfied and left. Now he comes back.

“I’m attracted by the scale of the company and new challenges. I see big potential and that’s why I wanted to come back. I had no doubts when I got the offer”, Michal Wojcik said.

Rafal Bauer who in May managed to acquire W.Kruk, is stepping down.

“He asked for this. We wanted him to stay but it was his decision”, Adam Goral, the member of V&W supervisory board said.

Jerzy Mazgaj, the CEO of Alma retailer with nearly 6 percent of V&W, is also moved with the changes.

“I talked to Rafal Bauer many times. I was trying to make him stay but he refused because of the presence of Wojciech Kruk among shareholders. Their conflict influenced this decision, I believe”, Jerzy Mazgaj said.
