VC want health care

The reform of the health services which came in in 1999 has permitted the development of the private sector which it is anticipated will grow quickly over the next few years.

Adam Kruszewski, investment director of Enterprise Investors believes that private medicine will get a thirty percent slice of all health care spending.

This market was estimated to be worth around USD10bn last year although it is expected to grow to USD15bn within five years. This has caught the attention of venture capital companies who in the US alone last year placed 19.3 percent of their funds, some USD2.7bn, in this field.

Following in the footsteps of Enterprise Investors and Swedish Oresa Ventures is the international Advent who is expected to make an announcement soon.
