Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – The 20-share blue chip average is only 1.5 percent below the level of 3,000 points. WIG, the general index of Warsaw stock hit another record and exceeded 40,000 points on Monday.
WIG, the oldest index on the Warsaw Stock Exchange ended at 40,073.44 and hit a new record for the ninth time this year. WIG20 rose to a new record of 2,955.74 and is just 1.5 percent below 3,000. The Tuesday decision of the Monetary Policy Council may spur further growths. However, in last week’s poll conducted by ISB news agency, the same number of analysts anticipated rates decrease by 25 points and that MPC will leave rates unchanged. Investors focus on good macro news, including big GDP in the fourth quarter, lower inflation, growing exports and investment.
Bank stock were raising. Out of five representatives of the branch among WIG20 companies, only PKO BP noted a minor loss of 0.3 percent. Pekao and Ban BPH ended about 2.7 percent up each after they had fallen recently due to weak quarterly reports. Globe Trade Centre homebuilder which jumper 17.7 percent on Friday, ened At PLN 278, or 1.6 percent lower. Netia telecom was losing even 8 percent during the session after it reported PLN 11.64 of consolidated net loss in the fourth quarter. It ended 5.2 percent down at PLN 5.2.
