The WIG20 index opened down dragged down by depreciating zloty and decreases in other European stock exchanges. KGHM copper producer was falling on decreasing copper prices. Out of smaller companies, Mieszko sweet producer was a proof that investors may praise companies presenting good results. Lubawa which yesterday had signed joint venture with a Chinese partner, was growing as well. In the afternoon, the WIG20 index started to grow and exceeded the level of 1,800 points. BZ WBK bank and KGHM copper producer paced the advances, so did TP telecom and TVN media group. Grupa Lotos fuel giant was doing poorly, contrary to rival PKN Orlen.
The WIG20 index opened at 1,825 points, or 1.66 percent up.
