WSE: KGHM and small caps pace the advances of WIG

Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – The WIG20 rebounded after yesterday’s losses and is at the same level as it closed on Friday. The giants listed on the WSE, except for KGHM, were not eagerly traded.

WIG20 ended at 3,521.29 points, or 1.6 percent higher and is just 28 points below its all-time record. KGHM copper producer generated most trade among blue chips, shares worth PLN 173m changed hands and ended at PLN 99.1, or 4.6 percent up on growing copper prices. Polimex-Mostostal was the best performer among blue chips with 6.2 percent to PLN 230, a new record. Konrad Jaskola, the company’s CEO said that the construction company may bit last year’s results.

GTC homebuilder and TVN media group lost 0.8 percent each. GTC fell despite KBC share estimate at PLN 58, or PLN 7.2 more than the stock trades.

Small caps attracted over PLN 500m of trade. sWIG80 rose to its new all-time record of 17,241.74 points. WIG also reached new high of 57,604.37 points. Shares worth PLN 2.1 billion changed hands today. TVN lost on the poll by AGB Nielsen Media Research – in the first quarter TVN’s audience dropped from 16.37 to 16.26 percent. TVN fell to the third position in the ranking of the most popular TV stations in Poland.
