Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – Zespol Uzdrowisk Klodzkich (ZUK), the health resorted from south-western Poland, plans to spend PLN 50m (EUR 13.2m) within three years. The state will support the company.

The Ministry of the Treasury, the owner of ZUK, will transfer PLN 7m for the company. Funds will be spent for ZUK’s newest investment – bottled mineral water manufacturing. According to Jerzy Szymanczyk, ZUK’s CEO, Staropolanka, the water produced by ZUK, has 3.5-percent market share in the mineral water market.

Within three years, the company will invest over PLN 40m to develop and modernize its health resorts in Polanica, Kudowa and Duszniki, including hotel buildings, swimming and thermal pools.

“We have modernized 80 percent of health resorts. This is the only way to lure commercial clients who generate 40 percent of our sales. We want to increase the level to 50 percent”, Jerzy Szymanczyk explained.

In 2005, the company had PLN 1.1m of net income against PLN 86m of sales. ZUK spent PLN 9m for investment. It employs 650 people.
