Asseco consolidates the group and saves on sport sponsoring

Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – Higher income, changes within the group and further acquisitions. Asseco will compete with European leaders.

 

Asseco Poland presented its plans after the merger with Prokom. The group, which is going to be one of Europe’s biggest IT companies, will also constitute of Asseco Business Solutions and ABG Spin. Comp, a subsidiary of Prokom listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange will be sold. Initial negotiations have already been started.

“A foreign investor is interested in Comp”, Adam Goral, Asseco Poland CEO said.

 

According to the company, after its merger with Prokom, it will be Europe’s 5th biggest IT group as far as capitalization is concerned (German SAP excluding). Its market value amounts to PLN 6bn (EUR 1.6bn), the group has 7,500 employees and plans to have EUR 65m of net income next year. It will continue expansion abroad and acquire companies all over Europe. The group already consists of subsidiaries in Slovakia, Czech Republic, Romania, Germany and Austria.

 

In Poland, Asseco wants to look for savings, especially in sponsoring. The company will probably withdraw from sponsoring Prokom Open tennis championships, Arka Gdynia football team and Sopot basketball team. This will generate PLN 37m of annual savings.

In the third quarter, Asseco had PLN 44.9m of net income against PLN 30m last year. Sales amounted to PLN 315m against PLN 139m a year ago. Prokom had PLN 22.9m of net income against PLN 30m last year. Sales increased by PLN 200m to PLN 580m.
