Bank Handlowy has changed dividends' policy

Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – Bank Handlowy decided to pay back to shareholders PLN 1,6billion (EUR 395million). It will be the last time of such a generous payment.

Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – Bank Handlowy decided to pay back to shareholders PLN 1,6billion (EUR 395million). It will be the last time of such a generous payment.

Bank Handlowy wants to pay back not only the whole earnings from last year - PLN 414million, but also PLN 1,15 billion from capital. In this way, the company would like to lower the capital to improve ROE. That index stay in last years at 7,3 per cent, the bank wants to rise it to 20 per cent. At the same time, the rate of solvency will decrease. In a few previous years it ammounted to 20 per cent. The management claims that from now on, it will remain at the level of 12 per cent.

The bank plan also to broaden the offer of credit cards and loans both mortgage and corporate. In the first quarter Bank Handlowy had PLN 119million of net income, 40 per cent more than in 2004. Company said that still can improve results.
