Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – Cyfrowy Polsat delays launching mobile services. It has to invest a lot before.

Cyfrowy Polsat signed on June 8th agreement for the access to the network of PTC, the operator of Era and Heyah. This lets the company become an MVNO. Initially, the company said it would like to launch operations at the end of this year but the plans are delaying.

“The middle of 2007 is possible. The business plan will be ready in December. Till the end of this year, we should get the financing. The technical preparations will take several months”, Dominik Libicki, Cyfrowy Polsat CEO said.

Polsat will be able to offer triple-play services.

“We want to make use of the potential of Polsat Television on the telecommunication market. The mobile network will probably be connected with Polsat even in its logo or brand”, Dominik Libicki added.

The subscribers of Cyfrowy Polsat will be the first target group of the mobile telecommunication.

“This is our natural target group. Then we hope that the sales of the digital platform and mobiles will support each other. I will be satisfied if we have 1m mobile subscribers till the end of 2008. Today we have about 1m digital platform subscribers”, Dominik Libicki said.

The offer will base on voice services, SMS and TV broadcasting. Before Cyfrowy Polsat launches its offer, it has to invest a lot.

“The spending will amount to several hundreds million zloty”, Cyfrowy Polsat head said.

Last year, Cyfrowy Polsat had PLN 42m (EUR 11m) of net loss and PLN 271m of sales.
