Piotr L. headed Optimus till the mid of last year. He was arrested by CBA.
“Please do not think that it was only because of Optimus. This case is complex. Investigation has been going on since 2006”, Katarzyna Szeska from Warsaw prosecutor’s office said.
The office accuses Piotr L. for theft of substantial assets. Optimus only lost PLN 700,000 (EUR 204,081).
The accusations concern the period of August 2006-March 2007. CBA said that Piotr L. signed agreement with another company to collect debts for Optimus. He knew there were no debts to be collected. Then, he made Optimus pay several invoices worth PLN 730,000. According to CBA, PLN 670,000 went for Piotr L. Ex-CEO faces 10 years of prison.
This is not the first time that Piotr L. has been arrested. In November 2006, he increased the company’s capital. In result, the stake of Zbigniew Jakubas, the major investor of the company, dropped. Zbigniew Jakubas believed that the decision was illegal. The court decided that the capital increase was to be cancelled. The company is again controlled by Zbigniew Jakubas.
