HSBC lures with offer for enterprises

Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – European banking leader will fight for corporate clients. It plans to have 1,000 clients and eight standard retail outlets in Poland.

HSBC Bank Polska today focuses on investment banking and has so far conducted over 40 transactions worth over PLN 21.5bn (EUR 5.7bn). Its other priority businesses include retail banking and treasury banking. HSBC wants to develop corporate banking unit now.
“Our target is 1,000 clients till the end of 2008. We have 300 of them today. The goal is ambitious but I’m sure we’ll manage”, Rob Carver, corporate banking managing director at HSBC Bank Polska said.

The bank will look for clients among, both, big and small companies.

It’s offer is mainly directed to exporters and importers.

“To these companies, we may offer services of world’s best develop network of standard retail outlets. HSBC is present in 83 markets. We can thus support a company’s operations all over the world. We are particularly strong in Asia and the Middle East”, Guy Hamilton, Central and Eastern Europe managing director said.

Exports in Poland grow 18.5 percent annually, imports grow 19.1 percent. Meanwhile, Poland is believed to be one of the most attractive countries to be invested in.
