PLN 100 m tender for KGHM IT systems starts

Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – KGHM, Poland’s copper and silver producer, wants to implement modern IT systems managing ores and delivery. According to “Puls Biznesu” unofficial sources, the project is wroth PLN 100 m (EUR 23.9 m). Invitations to IT companies have already been sent. ‘Offers may be submitted till the end of May.

According to “Puls Biznesu” unofficial sources, the project is wroth PLN 100 m (EUR 23.9 m). Invitations to IT companies have already been sent. ‘Offers may be submitted till the end of May. This is a big project for several years’, a source told “PB”.

A dozen companies or so have been invited to take part in the tender. Prokom has big chances to win as this company has been KGHM IT deliverer for many years. ‘The integrator is not as important as the quality of the product’, a person, which knows the project well said. German SAP offers ore systems, and KGHM is already using some of SAP’s products, which may be an advantage for this producer.

Prokom has recently won several big tenders, including IT systems for PKO BP bank and PZU insurer, and registration system for cars CEPiK. A tender is being conducted for border protection system worth over PLN 200 m.
