Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – Yesterday, Bumar and the Iraqi authorities signed a contract for delivery of 20 helicopters Sokol, army equipment and ambulances. The Polish company will also deliver 24 Russian helicopters Mi-17. On Monday, when Bumar submitted its offer, it amounted to USD 131 million (EUR 97.6 million) but the contract signed yesterday provides for USD 236 million.

‘The contract concerns also a course for 10 pilots and 20 engineers’, Ziad Cattan, Iraqi deputy Defence Minister said. He added that Iraq wanted to develop co-operation with Poland. Iraq has decided to buy Polish equipment because – as Ziad Cattan stressed on Monday – the equipment received from Anham consortium, which had won a tender worth USD 250 million, is useless. In his opinion, it was not just that Bumar did not win the previous tenders.
