Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – Dutch Eureko, the owner of 32 percent in PZU, Poland’s biggest insurance company, has sent a letter to Polish Parliament offering to hear to Ernst Jansen, Eureko deputy CEO. ‘We are worried that politicians and other people engaged in ‘PZU saga’ destroy our reputation and accuse us’, Ernst Jansen explained.

He added that he hoped the documents delivered to the Parliamentary commission investigating privatisation of PZU will allow to discover the real scandal, which is the way the investor was treated by governments headed by Jerzy Buzek, Leszek Miller and Marek Belka. If and when the commission hears to Mr. Jansen believes unknown.

Eureko said also that there was no chance to reach settlement with the Polish government. ‘In December, we were ready to agree to many things. Minister Socha was convincing us that if we limit demands and find compromise, we will be more welcome as investor. Now I know, this was only illusion’, Ernst Jansen said. He had warned the Minister of Treasury that after February 7th, when the official part of the arbitrary proceedings is concluded, the agreement reached in December would not be valid any longer. ‘Our experiences prove that reaching settlement makes sense only when it is to be realised by the same government. And this government, unfortunately, is finishing its works’, Eureko deputy CEO explained.

Poland’s Ministry of Treasure refused to comment.
