Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – Hortex, the Polish frozen food and beverages producer, has given up selling its frozen products unit. Last year, the company announced it was going to sell two plants and distribution system. The buyer would produce frozen products under Hortex logo and licence. ‘After several months of talks, Hortex has decided to break negotiations with potential investors. Despite many interested companies and advanced talks with some of them, we did not manage to agree the price and conditions’, Tomasz Kurpisz, Hortex Holding CEO said.
He was not worried with the situation. He stressed that the frozen products unit was profitable and increased sales in the recent nine months by 40 percent. ‘We will further intensively develop this unit, increasing its value’, the CEO added. Hortex wants to invest several dozen millions of zlotys more.
Hortex is constantly increasing its share in its strategic market of juices and beverages – it amounts to 16 percent already. In the fiscal year ending in May, it will have sales of over PLN 500 m (EUR 120 m).
