Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – On Monday, the WIG20 index fell 0.9 percent to 1812.33 points. It was mainly due to weak Friday session on the Wall Street. Fortunately, the index did not fall below the level.
Morning decrease of stock price was a good chance for big investors of Pekao bank and TPSA telecom to increase their shares in the companies. The companies managed to grow. PKO BP, the bank whose IPO had been conducted nearly two weeks ago, shed. PKN Orlen fuel giant and KGHM copper producer lost a little. Agora media company, the publisher of ‘Gazeta Wyborcza’ daily fell 0.8 percent after Axel Springer, the publisher of ‘Fakt’ tabloid had said it would sell books with the paper for PLN 2 (EUR 0.47) each. Gazeta Wyborcza has been selling books worth PLN 15. Experts forecast, sales of the latter may fall.
IT companies had a bad day, and the TechWIG sher 1.4 percent. Prokom and Computerland were the worst performers among IT companies.
Among small and medium sized companies, Garbarnia was gaining as well as Elektromontaz Warszawa construction company despite the threat of bankruptcy. Farmacol pharmaceutical distributor lost 2.7 percent because the sales forecast of PLN 3.2 billion will not be fulfilled this year.
