Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – PZU, Poland’s largest insurer is going to start cooperation with the state-owned post, which with 8,350 outlets in the country ensures great growth potential.
PZU group is going to join the dream team built last year by Poczta Polska (PP) and PKO BP. The representatives of country’s biggest insurer and the state-owned post met last week to discuss the common project. Last Tuesday, PZU appointed Piotr Kowalczewski, PZU deputy CEO for sales, to be responsible for operational contacts with Poczta Polska.
“I confirm that we are leading talks with PP. It is too early, however, to reveal details”, Piotr Kowalczewski said.
“We talked about the cooperation in several areas. We want to deepen the relations because Poczta Polska is PZU’s client, and PZU is ours”, Miroslaw Jakubowski, the deputy General Director of PP said.
The first projects will be launched at the end of this year. PZU cares first of all for the network of PP where it products would be sold. However, the post already sells insurance products of PTUW, its subsidiary, and two other companies. PP has 8,350 outlets.
The three companies which are going to cooperate are the country’s giants. Poczta Polska employs 100,000 people, has 8,350 outlets, PLN 6.21 billion of sales (EUR 1.6 billion) and PLN 0.2 billion of net income. PZU has 11,620 employees, 360 outlets, PLN 7.65 billion of sales and PLN 2.69 billion of net income. PKO BP has 33,100 employees, 1,200 outlets, PN 5.6 billion of sales and PLN 1.7 billion of net income.
