Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – Chinese government invites Polish firms for the first imports fairs held in the capital.

The upcoming Olympic games in Beijing are not only a sports but also a business event. It’s not only about stadium and hotel building. China opens its market to foreign companies, including Polish ones.

“The Chinese embassy in Warsaw proposed us to prepare a tour of Polish companies to “Commodities of Latin American, Caribbean and Central European Countries” fairs held in Beijing. These are going to be the first import fairs in this city and the second such initiative in China. These fairs will be exceptional because the Chinese government will provide surface to foreign companies without any fees. This is a great opportunity to promote Polish food”, Andrzej Nogal, the CEO and owner of Centrum Informacji Gospodarczej, a company specializing in trade missions, said.

Polish exporters will have 120 square meters, the second largest exposition after Hungary. Nearly 30 companies will be able to present their products.

“The list is nearly closed. Companies do not pay for taking part in the fairs, including transport, presentation and advertising materials. We finance the operation from our own funds but we have a provision in the contracts to get commission from contracts concluded at the fairs”, Andrzej Nogal said.

There are ready-to-eat dishes and vodka producers among the companies going to the fairs. The following companies will present their goods: Pamapol, Kamis Przyprawy, Firma Roleski, Stoczek, Polmos Siedlce, Perla – Browary Lubelskie and Akwawit – Brasco.

“We are going to present ready-to-eat dishes and jams of Stoczek brand. We hope they will arouse interest. Ready-to-eat dishes from Europe are sold in China at very attractive prices. The potential there is very high taking into account the fact that over 150m people live in big cities”, Pawel Nowakowski, the CEO of listed Makarony Polskie company said.

Polish exports to China amounted to PLN 2.37bn (EUR 654.1m)last year while imports amounted to PLN 23.9bn. A year earlier, they amounted to, respectively, PLN 1.9bn and PLN 17.8bn.
