Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) - Ludwik Sobolewski,
the CEO of the Warsaw Stock Exchange, promised 70 IPOs this year. He turned out
to be a pessimist, as there will be a rain of new stock on the WSE. According to
a PB poll made among brokers, they plan as many as 128 IPOs this year worth PLN
20bn (EUR 5.8bn). Prepare your money, investors.
If these plans come true, last year’s results would be beaten. In 2008, there
were 81 IPOs worth PLN 18.3bn. The brokerages planning biggest number of IPOs
include: Unicredit CA IB, DM BZ WBK, DM Penetrator, DM IDM SA and DI BRE Bank.
So far, there have been only 9 IPOs worth PLN 360m this year. There should be
15 debuts monthly till the end of the year.
