No doubt steel importers will find themselves queuing up in front of the economy ministry before long. The government has decided to protect the domestic market by inflicting quotas on imports. Now the amount of steel that an importer can bring into the country could depend on the good will of individual civil servants, no laughing matter for car or white goods manufacturers for example.
