Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – Norwegian Norsk Hydro and Statoil may acquire the assets of SSN shipyard.

The government wants the investor for Stocznia Szczecinska Nowa (SN) to be chosen before the middle of the year. Zlomrex was the only company to submit its offer. It was six months ago but the company wants first European Commission to explain all doubts concerning the public subsidies for the shipyard. According to local press, Norsk Hydro and Statoil are also interested in SSN.

Krzyszof Piotrowski, the CEO of Porta Holding which is going bankrupt, has prepared such a scenario for SSN. SSN bought the assets of Porta Holding from the bankruptcy officer in 2002. Now it faces bankruptcy itself.

“It’s a consortium of Norwegian investors. I cannot give you their names until the government officials meet with them”, Krzysztof Piotrowski said.

The project provides for the investors to acquire the assets and contracts of SSN. This means that the shipyard would be liquidated
