Unicredit will soon decide about the management of Pekao after the merger with Bank BPH. The head of the corporate banking has not been chosen yet.

On Wednesday, Unicredit will present the members of the management of Pekao after the merger with Bank BPH. The merger of Poland’s second largest bank will be conducted by Jan Krzysztof Bielecki, Pekao CEO and Luigi Lovaglio, the deputy CEO of Pekao. They will manage the bank for the upcoming three years. Mariusz Grendowicz, Bank BPH deputy CEO responsible for corporate banking and project finance who was not considered as the member of the new management before because of his independence, may now be offered a high position.

“When comparative analysis of the corporate units of both banks was conducted, Bank BPH had better results and Grendowicz was offered a job in the new bank”, an anonymous source told “Puls Biznesu”.

According to “PB” sources, Mr. Grendowicz has not given any definite answer yet.

Paolo Iannone who is responsible for the retail banking in Pekao will still do it in the bigger bank. Wojciech Sobieraj from Bank BPH was supposed to help him but he resigned several weeks ago. Today he is being replaced by Grzegorz Piwowar, the sales director in retail banking unit. He will be responsible for small and medium enterprises and VIP clients in the future. Krzysztof Kosmider who today heads the individual banking unit will most probably manage the financial unit in the future. Katarzyna Niezgoda responsible for Human Resources in Bank BPH will join Pekao as well.
