Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) –The requirements of the tender to build the monitoring system on the borders are too strict, the IT chamber believes.

The Polish IT and Telecommunication Chamber PIIT has criticized the Polish border guard (SG) for the third time over the EUR 52.5m project to build the land border protection system. In the first case, SG used wrong tender procedures, in the second case, PIIT withdrew its protest after SG promised to apply its comments. Now, the chamber protested the requirements for being too strict. The companies are expected to take care for numerous building permissions. This means that it will be extremely difficult to meet the deadlines.

“We have sent our notes to SG. These requirements depend on decisions of other entities and you can’t say in advance when they will be given. Some of our points have been taken into account”, Waclaw Iszkowski, PIIT CEO said.

The offers are expected till May 5. There are two consortia left in the tender, including Computerland’s and Emax’s. The companies refused to talk about possible problems.

“The deadline is impossible to be kept, which means that the EU funds may be lost”, “Puls Biznesu” source said.

The project is to be concluded till fall 2007. The IT companies believe it is possible to realize it till 2008. The companies may submit offers with prices much higher then provided in the budget or may give up the tender.
