Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – Because of political disturbances, and the opinions of some of SLD leftist party politicians that elections should be held earlier than June (already faster than planned before), foreign investors avoid Polish bourse. Shares of the WIG20 index worth only PLN 435 m (EUR 111.8 m) changed hands. The index shed 0.5 percent to 2,053 points.
Only PKN Orlen fuel giant and TPSA telecom were traded at substantial volumes. Both companies account for PLN 250 m of trades. TPSA lost 1.4 percent, while PKN Orlen fell 0.6 percent. BZ WBK was the best performer on Tuesday, and its shares rose to the previously achieved record of PLN 104.5. Orbis, hotel managing company, rose after its CEO Krzysztof Gerula said that over 30 percent of income would be spent on dividend and that the company aims to increase operational incomes to PLN 977.4 m in 2009.
Among smaller companies, Vistula clothes producer jumped 7 percent after the company informed that manager options are to be implemented if the shares rise to PLN 50. Today, they cost PLN 33.9.
