UPC blocks Viva Polska
United Europe Pan Communications, the largest cable operator in Poland, has blocked the Viva Polska channel from its networks. The German music television channel will lose around 55 percent of its reach due to this decision according to Monika Oomen, programme director at Viva Polska. Viva Polska’s problem is that UPC has linked up with MTV Networks Europe to form a joint venture and clearly does not want the competition there.
