Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – Volkswagen is ninth in the ranking of new passenger cars sales. High prices which are the obstacle are going to fall.
According to promises of Kulczyk Tradex, the importer of Volkswagen brand to Poland, the prices of golf and passat models will fall in June.
“Volkswagen has no other way to go. Today, the price of their cars are not adequate to what the Poles can afford. That’s why the potential buyers of their cars choose Skoda produced by the same company but much cheaper”, Roman Kantorski, the CEO of the Polish Automotive Chamber commented.
After the first four months of this year, Volkswagen increased sale sof new passenger cars by 5.56 percent year-on-year. However, the April results were nearly 1 percent lower than the March ones. That’s why the company refuses to give annual forecasts.
“The passenger car market in Poland will amount to 220-230,000 cars this year and should grow to 250,000 cars next year. We will increase our stake thanks to the new offer, suitable price range and well prepared network of dealers. In several years’ time we want to reach an average European market share of 8 percent”, Johannes J. van der Valk, Kulczyk Tradex CEO said.
