Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) - According to the information obtained by Puls Biznesu, Wiener Städtische, an Austrian Insurance Group, which owns Compensa, has bought Polish companies belonging to Benefia (former FIAT Ubezpieczenia) The non-life insurer, a part of Italian Toro Taga Assicurazioni, is in the second top ten on the Polish market.

Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) - According to the information obtained by Puls Biznesu, Wiener Städtische, an Austrian Insurance Group, which owns Compensa, has bought Polish companies belonging to Benefia (former FIAT Ubezpieczenia) The non-life insurer, a part of Italian Toro Taga Assicurazioni, is in the second top ten on the Polish market.

“The agreement has not been signed yet, but all is going in the right direction”, said Halina Maj, a member of Benefia’s management board. The acquisition may be of great importance for Wiener Städtische as the company is also taking control of Compensa’s shares in its German co-shareholder, HUK-Coburg. As a result of the takeover, the Austrian group will have control over 99.86% in a non-life division and 100% in the life insurance division of Compensa.
