Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – The WSE ended down after it had cut its decrease by half yesterday in the last minutes of trading. Today, it was one of the worst performers in Europe.

Blue chips which jumped in the fixing yesterday, dived today, including Agora media group, PKN Orlen fuel giant or Asseco Polska IT group. Very poor results presented by fuel companies before the market opened were another factor influencing their decreases. PKN Orlen had a symbolic net income while Grupa Lotos had a great loss, something even the most skeptic analysts had not expected.

Out of small and mid-caps, Cyfrowy Polsat TV broadcaster was growing on good quarterly report, Wielton trailer producer and Zurawie construction company were also doing quite well. Homebuilding companies on the other hand continued their downward trend.

The WIG20 index ended 4.29 percent down. Polnord construction company was the only blue chip not to end down. Petrolinvest oil company rose today as some investors expect PKN Orlen to invest in the company from Ryszard Krauze’s group.
