The WIG20 opened up but did not exceed the level of 2,500 points. It fact, it quickly started to fall and ended just 0.1 percent down. Construction companies were among the worst performers among blue chips with Polimex-Mostostal losing 10.5 percent on lower recommendation from ING Securities. GTC shed 4.9 percent while PBG fell 2.7 percent. Banks were doing poorly as well. BZ WBK shed 3.2 percent while BRE lost 0.6 percent. PKN Orlen fuel giant ended 0.8 percent up on higher recommendation from DI BRE.
Small and mid-capitalization companies were also trading badly. Orbis hotel owner dived 6.9 percent on lower recommendation from KBC Securities. Amrest restaurant operator fell 5.3 percent despite the fact that it had increased its stake in Sfinks to 25 percent.
Shares worth over PLN 1bn changed hands. On Friday, the volume of trade
exceeded PLN 2bn.
