Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – The national road fund is  supposed to spend PLN 3.1bn (EUR 861.8m) for road building. Over half of this amount will be borrowed or raised thanks to bonds.

The Ministry of Infrastructure has prepared a bill concerning spending of the national road building fund (KFD). This year, the fund should spend PLN 3.1bn. Only several weeks ago, the general directorate for national roads and motorways (GDDKiA) said that the fund would amount to PLN 2bn. The whole budget provided for road building this year amounts to PLN 21bn.

How high the fund really is depends on how much money it manages to borrow. According to the bill, Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego (BGK) will lend PLN 1.68bn to the fund or issue bonds with the same value. About PLN 1.45bn will be spent for road investments.
