Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – Citizens’ Platform (PO) is finishing works over a totally new VAT law (600 pages long). Law and Justice (PiS), the winning party and the future coalition party of PO, has employed international lawyer firm to prepare amendment to present law.
We will present our proposal to our coalition partner. We will try to convince PiS to accept our bill and to send it to the Parliament, Zbigniew Chlebowski, one of PO leaders said.PO’s proposal provides for one, 15 percent VAT rate (today, there are three rates: 3, 7 and 22 percent). The party would also like to enable entrepreneurs to deduct costs of new cars and fuel bought for business activities.PiS has its proposals prepared by the Polish Confederation of Private Employers.The bill is good. We will present it to our coalition partner and will try to convince him to accept it, Artur Zawisza, PiS MP said.While PO believes that totally new VAT law is necessary, PiS says that it would endanger the tax system.Among so many difficult rules, there may be an important mistake. It is safer to correct all rules that are bad, Artur Zawisza believed.We won’t give up the issues concerning lower VAT rates and simplifying settlements. Otherwise, you can’t support businessmen, Zbigniew Chlebowski added.
