The brand and equipment of Hellena, the bankrupt beverage producer from Kalisz founded by Zenon Sroczynski, will be bought by Czech Kofola. Kofola has recently started production in Poland. According to Ewa Glowacka-Andler, the spokeswoman of the Kalisz court, Kofola was the only company interested in the assets. The Czech producer will pay PLN 17.2m (EUR 4.5m) for them. According to experts, the assets of bankrupt Hellena amount to PLN 130m. The debts are estimated to be of similar value. The plant in Kalisz has been closed for long, the employees were fired in February.
Kofola decided in March to merge with Hoop. The merger will found a company with PLN 1.2 billion of annual sales operating in Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary and Russia.
