Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – Monday was a very calm day in the Warsaw Stock Exchange, contrary to Friday twists.

The WIG20 index did not shift much today and finally it ended at 2,937.92 points, or 0.01 percent up. The WIG index rose exactly the same, to 39,109.05 points. The volume of trade amounted to PLN 500m (EUR 130.5m). On Friday, it was 60 percent higher. If Western European investors keep acquisition spree and politicians do not spoil the situation, new records can soon be reached. WIG20 needs just 15.8 points, or 0.54 percent.

Only three out of 20 blue chips attracted substantial trade. PKN Orlen gained 0.9 percent to PLN 64.9 while shares worth PLN 102m changed hands. As it had promised before, PKN Orlen submitted during the weekend an offer to buy 53.7 percent of Lithuanian Mozeiki offered by Russian Yukos. KGHM copper producer remained unchanged while shares worth PLN 100m changed hands. Shares of TP telecom worth over PLN 60m changed hands. The telecom gained similarly to PKN Orlen.
