Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – A new strong player enters the Polish steel distribution market. It’s a Czech company – Ferona. It plans to become one of Poland’s ten biggest companies in this sector.

Leading companies operating on the Polish steel distribution market, used to be founded by local businessmen, family companies, dealers launched many years ago by state-owned steel plants. More and more foreign companies, however, are lured to Poland. Ferona, the Czech giant, is one of them.

“We want to become one of ten biggest steel distributors in Poland”, Robert Agh, Ferona Polska CEO said.

The company delivers 1.2m tons of steel products to the Czech Republic and Slovakia. Polish giants sell half of it.

This year, Ferona will sell only 7,000 of its products in Poland.

“Sales should grow every year. In 2008, they will amount to 50-60,000 tons. Later on, they will keep growing 40-60,000 tons annually”, Robert Agh added.
