Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – ITI, the Polish listed media group, wants new technologies to be one of its priorities. The company has recently employed Boguslaw Kulakowski, the former CEO of PTC mobile operator in order to implement the project. “We estimate that the Internet and related projects will be more and more important in the whole group’s results. In five years perspective, it should generate over 20 percent of sales”, Wojciech Kostrzewa, ITI CEO and General Director said. Today, internet operations generate PLN 80m (EUR 19.9m) a year, or 7 percent of sales.

In the first half of 2005, sales of Onet internet portal amounted to EUR 9.7m, or 6 percent of ITI sales. Sales of TVN television are to grow 7 percent a year, Multikino movie network and Legia Warszawa football team will remain unchanged, while ITI Film Studio, ITI Cinema and Impresariat ITI will grow 10 percent a year. Onet considers launching small ads services, which in the first seven months of this year amounted to PLN 2.3 billion, according to Expert Monitor. ITI CEO said that the company considers acquisitions in the Internet market, but in Poland, not abroad. He refused to give any details.

“Internet sales should in fact grow faster than, let’s say, TV commercials. This is the most dynamic market today. You can also expect internet market consolidation. Leaders are starting to earn, while smaller companies are good acquisition targets”, Wlodzimierz Giller, DB Securities analyst commented.
