Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – Investors on the Warsaw Stock Exchange ended the week in bullish moods supported by foreign capital. The main index jumped 3.5 percent, the volume of trade doubled.
The WIG20 index grew 3.5 percent to 2,859.61 in line with BUX increase of 5 percent. Shares worth PLN 1.07 billion changed hands, while yesterday it was PLN 582m. The Polish zloty was another proof of foreign capital inflow – in the morning the currency strengthened to PLN 3.76 for a euro, the highest level since June 2002.
KGHM copper producer added over 4 percent to PLN 72.5. PKN Orlen contributed most to the increases. Stock jumped 5.2 percent to PLN 62.7 while the volume of trade exceeded PLN 100m. So did four other companies. Agora media group failed to join the upward trend. Yesterday it reported quarterly results and shares dived 8 percent. Today they fell 4.7 percent to PLN 52.9.
