WIG20 breaks the level of 2,000

The WIG20 managed to break the 2,000 level today. Bad news is that it exceeded it only by 2.78 points although during the day it reached the 2,013 level. Shares of blue chips worth only PLN 390m (EUR 96.7m) changed hands, while on Friday it was PLN 565m.

The WIG20 managed to break the 2,000 level today. Bad news is that it exceeded it only by 2.78 points although during the day it reached the 2,013 level. Shares of blue chips worth only PLN 390m (EUR 96.7m) changed hands, while on Friday it was PLN 565m.

Banks attracted most investors. BPH whose investor is HVB ended at all-times high of PLN 570, while shares worth PLN 80m changed hands. PKO BP and BZ WBK added 2 percent each. Pekao S.A. owned by UniCredito Italiano and TPSA telecom shed 0.3 percent each. PKN Orlen fuel giant gained 1.3 percent, shares worth PLN 93m changed hands, the highest level in the market today.

Among smaller companies, Tras-Tychy was doing extremely well. Shares jumped 38.3 percent while the volume of trade reached PLN 11.9, a high level for such a small company. The company has signed a letter of intent with German Richert-Gruppe recently. The company will buy shares issued in the future, which means the end of troubles Tras-Tychy had before.
