On November 1st, a new charter airline, Air Italy Polska (AIP) will start operations. 20 percent of the company belongs to Polish funds including Capital Partners and Bridge Fund. The representatives of the company have already submitted an application to get certificates for operations in Poland. The company wants to offer flights on short and long routes from Okecie Warsaw airport and other regional airports. Decision will be made soon whether to operate from Krakow or Katowice.
At first, the company will have one Boeing 757-200 offering routes to Egipt. In 2008, there will be three planes flying to Venezuela, Brazil or Cuba. In the first year, the airline wants to have 150,000 passengers.
So far, Prima Charter and Centralwings have offered charter services in Poland.
