The second healthcare center of EMC is being launched in Ireland. If the business turns out to be successful, new outlets will appear.

Today, the second Irish outlet of EMC Health Care, the subsidiary of Instytut Medyczny (EMC IM) is being launched. The first health center has been operating for nearly a year in Dublin. It was launched for Polish emigrants.

“Half of Dublin center’s patients are Poles. Another 30 percent constitute emigrants from other countries of our region, including the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Lithuania and Ukraine. Till April 2008, the center has had over 11,000 meetings”, Jaroslaw Leszczyszyn, EMC deputy CEO, said.

EMC has signed contract with HSE state-owned healthcare fund. It hopes to sign contract with Quinn, Ireland’s second largest private insurer in September.

The second center targets Irishmen. If it is successful, further centers will be launched.

“We are only learning. So far, we have been surprised with the fact that all procedures last much longer than in Poland. If we manage to promote our brand among local patients, we may launch 1-2 centers annually”, Jaroslaw Leszczyszyn added.
