Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – The Dutchmen said that the confidential data they received from PZU were used to support the operations of the management of Poland’s largest insurance company.

“PB” informed in July that the Dutch Eureko which owns 32.1 percent of PZU, received more data concerning the Polish company then the remaining shareholders. Last Friday, a supervisory boards checked why consolidated financial results of the whole group was sent to Holland every month. The deputy Minister of Treasure Pawel Szalamach wanted the meeting. In his opinion, the state which owns 55.1 percent of PZU, has never agreed for this procedure. However, no official statement was released after the meeting.

“The discussions were very hot. Jaromir Netzel, PZU CEO, Ernst Jansen, the deputy chairman and Aleksander Chlopecki, its chairman talked most”, one of the participants of the meeting revealed.

A key declaration took place during the meeting.

“Ernst Jansen admitted that Eureko used the data to support the operations of PZU management”, he said.

So far, Eureko representatives have claimed that they needed the data to prepare financial reports for the Dutch supervisory authorities.

However, Ernst Jansen, did not manage to receive answer to his questions concerning firing some dozen managers of PZU, some of them connected with Eureko.

“Mr. Netzel said he would not reply to the letter of deputy chairman Jansen because it was written on Eureko letter paper, and Mr. Jansen signed it as the deputy CEO of Eureko”, the source said.
