Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – Gdansk shipyard wants to build seven ships this year and starts first projects without stat subsidies.

Gdansk shipyard denies the rumors that it has problems with contracts to build ships.

“Gdansk shipyard has a portfolio full of orders till the year 2008. This year, the company will produce seven ships”, the shipyard representatives wrote in a statement.

The company has built a seismic ship for a Norwegian ship owner and is going to produce three seismic ships altogether. The shipyard will also build a ship for a German ship owner.

“This is the first ship to be constructed without state guarantees”, Aldona Dybuk, Stocznia Gdansk shipyard spokeswoman said.

The ship should be ready in the second half of the year. In May, the last ship for Stocznia Gdynia will be ready.
