Korporacja Polskie Stocznie (KPS), the Polish Shipyards Corporation founded to consolidate the sector three years ago, has had its first CEO chosen. This is Marek Opowicz.
“KPS will consolidate shipyards and prepare them for privatization”, Marek Opowicz said.
KPS has 80 percent shares of Stocznia Szczecinska Nowa and 10 percent of Stocznia Gdynia shipyards. Ernst & Young has just been chosen to advise at privatization of Nowa shipyard. KPS will soon have to choose advisor for Stocznia Gdansk. According to a new itinerary, the shipyard will be privatized this year. In Gdynia and Szczecin private partners should be admitted till the middle of the year. Ukrainian Donbas is interested in Gdynia and Gdansk shipyards. Italian FVH may privatize Gdansk shipyard while Zlomrex may be the investor in Szczecin shipyard.
