Praktiker announces new stores
The German DIY network Praktiker, part of the Metro AG group, is claiming that it intends to increase the number of its stores from 14 to 25.
Karl-Heinz Wörle, MD of Praktiker, says that he would like to be present in every large city in Poland.
Last year the company opened new stores in Zabrze, Kielce, Łódź and Olsztyn and this year a further four stores are planned.
Karl-Heinz Wörle sees his company as one of the main competitors of Castorama, OBI, Leroy Merlin and NOMI, as has, he believes, a ten to thirteen percent market share of DIY and interior design products.
Karl-Heinz Wörle thinks that there is a major demand in Poland for DIY products although he admits that spending is not as high as it could be.
