WIG20 opened up but then ended at its lowest level since September 12th.

The 20 share blue chips index opened 0.7 percent up but ended 1.75 percent down at 3,493.4 points. Shares worth PLN 1.1bn changed hands, a level similar to the one generated yesterday. mWIG40 and sWIG80 suffered much worse decreases. During the day, they were trading even 6.74 and 6.40 percent down. mWIG40 closted at 3,926.36 points, the level it was last in January. Since June, it has shed 31.5 percent. sWIG80 on the other hand ended at 15,630 points.

 

The only blue chip which rose today was CEZ energy company. The stock rose 1.6 percent to PLN 181.2 on very good results: the net income jumped 61 percent. PKO BP ended unchanged at PLN 52. BRE Bank was the third blue chip which resisted the downward trend.

 

Polnord homebuilder continued its losses. It was losing as much as 12.65 percent during the day but closed 6.9 percent down at PLN 114. Its record is PLN 347 a share. Polimex-Mostostal construction company was the worst blue chip with 9 percent decrease. Since October 22nd it has shed 36 percent.
